B.I.G. WEDNESDAY Inspiration Service ~ Our Mid-Week Service - Every Wednesday
Be blessed, inspired and grateful on Wednesdays at The Sanctuary for Spiritual Living! And get a little exercise in before the service at the Tai Chi Class at 6 p.m. followed by a relaxing meditation which readies you for the lively 7 p.m. service. Come together in spiritual community to be BIG for God on Wednesdays!
Monday Morning Miracles- Every Monday
Practitioner John Morgan is facilitating a Monday morning study group for the Course in Miracles beginning September 8, from 10 am to noon. John has studied both the Course and The Science of Mind for many years and brings a rich spiritual practice to his work as a Practitioner.
Tai Chi- Wednesdays -Every Wednesday
Come join in the peace filled movements of Tai Chi Wednesday evenings 5:45 - 6:45 pm in Jr. Church. Suggested love offering $10 or purchase a bundle of 10 classes for $80.
Spiritual Tarot- Saturday (3 - 5 pm)
Practitioner Linda Cullerton is teaching "Spiritual Tarot" classes Saturdays from 3 - 5 p.m. This spiratic and ongoing class teaches our Science of Mind principles as applied to the ancient wisdom of Tarot. You will learn visioning and meditation technics using the tarot cards as tools to awaken your natural intuition. The text for the class is "Tarot Made Easy" by Nancy Garen and is available in our bookstore. A Love Offering of $10 is collected.
Class Celebration Sunday -Sunday, June 13th
Our class celebration luncheon will be Sunday, June 13. Certificates for completion of both United Church Classes and SSL classes during the last 12 months will be given out by the class teachers during lunch in Harmony Hall. Be sure to attend and receive your certificates and celebrate the beautiful work of this learning community.
Practitioner Graduation -Friday, June 18th
You are invited to join Practitioner II graduates: Blanca Martinez Abello, Rafael Abello, Merry Hercules and Eric Pope on Friday, June 18 at 7 p.m. for their formal class graduation ceremony. A dessert reception will follow.
Father's Day -Sunday, June 20th
Rev. Kris will be presenting a special Father's Day message on Sunday, June 20 during our Celebration Service.
"Shadow Effect" Movie Night -Friday, June 25th
Our next family dinner and movie night is scheduled for Friday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. Monica Gump is hosting the evening and the movie will be "Shadow Effect" which explores the work of Debbie Ford. Please sign up in Harmony Hall so we know how much food to prepare.

Independence Day is on Sunday, we will have events all day long, starting with a
Barbeque after church, please bring side dishes to share, the church will supply hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs and hot links.Then join Rev. Kris and Jim at 6:30 p.m. for a bring your own picnic and watch the fireworks from our church grounds
Rev. Karen's Ordination -Saturday, July 10th
Please join Rev. Karen for her ordination on Saturday, July 10 at 5 p.m. This special ceremony includes guest ministers from United Centers for Spiritual Living and marks Karen's commitment to serve God through the role of Minister. There will be a reception following the ceremony.
ASILOMAR - “Save the Date” for the Asilomar Summer Conference August 1-7, 2010
Registration has opened for the biggest UCSL event of the year. A full week of praying, playing, relaxing and reconnecting is scheduled for Aug. 1st through 7th, 2010. Over 40 amazing workshops are planned, a plethora of fabulous speakers, drum circles, book signings, and long strolls on the beach or over the sand dunes... all taking place on the beautiful Monterey coastline. Anton Mizerak Concert -Monday, Sept 6th
Anton Mizerak and Kim will again join us on Labor Day, September 6 at 6:30 p.m.. Anton will present a short workshop on Sacred Myth followed by a concert of beautiful sacred music from all around the world. Anton uses music instruments from many different cultures. Love Offering.

The purpose of our classes is to train you in how to use the Science of Mind in your daily lives for successful living and loving relationships. By applying the Spiritual Principles we teach, you can join the thousands of people who enjoy loving relationships, successful and profitable work, peace of mind and Spiritual confidence. We teach both certificated United Church of Religious Science classes (these are registered with the United Church which issues a certificate of completion to the student) and original classes created by our Practitioners and Ministers (our church issues a certificate of completion to the student for these original classes).
Visioning Class - Begins Saturday, June 12th
This certificated class is a walk through the powerful tool of Visioning. It includes the history of how visioning began in our movement with the inspiration of Dr. Michael Beckwith, offers weekly opportunities for visioning at different levels from the individual to the community to the global and explains the role of visioning in our Global Heart Model. Practitioner Claudette Bell King will be facilitating this eight week class on Saturday Mornings beginning June 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Class credit is given towards Practitioner training. Tuition: $195 includes class registration and workbook.
Financial Freedom - Begins Monday, June 14th
Beginning Monday, June 14, Rev. Kris will be facilitating this certificated class from 7 - 10 p.m. Explore and personalize Creative Process by learning to duplicate the abundant nature of Spirit in your financial affairs. Class meets for 8 weeks and tuition is $195. Pre-requisite: Foundational Class.
Foundation - Offered every January & September
Foundational Class ------ This entry level class introduces the Core Concepts
of the Science of Mind (which includes the law of attraction) and teaches how to apply these Universal Principles to your own life. Meditation and positive prayer (Spiritual Mind Treatment, which puts the secret into action) are taught as daily practice. The class is experiential with guided meditations and exercises to assist the student in embracing and incorporating the Science of Mind Principles. Life changing concepts and ideas are the natural result of this class room experience. This year we are offering this 13 week class in both English and Spanish. This certificated class is facilitated in English by Rev Kris and in Spanish by Practitioner, Corinne Gomez. Tuition normally is $270, however, we are offering this class for the registration & workbook fee of $60 and a weekly love offering. The class includes the Science of Mind Weekend on January 29 (7 - 10 p.m.) and 30 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Text books are The Science of Mind and Living the Science of Mind, both by Ernest Holmes. Foundational Class in English
will be offered both in the evening and during the day.
Science of Mind Weekend - As aprt of the Foundation curriculum Rev. Kris facilitates this fun and insightful weekend teaching Spiritual Principles in a creative manner, including visioning for your individual life, creating a vision board and learning or deepening your use of Treatment for your life vision. Those enrolled in the Foundational Class, or other certificated class may attend for free. A pot luck lunch will be served on Saturday. The class fee is $25 for those not enrolled in a certificated class.
Practitioner I Classes - NEW CLASS STARTS IN SEPT
The first year of Professional Practitioner Studies is devoted to advancing spiritual awareness and expanding your understanding of your relationship to the universe. It is designed to be whole and complete within itself, preparing you to live life more fully, whether or not you choose to continue with Practitioner II and become a Licensed Practitioner. Class work includes journaling and expanded spiritual practices. Term papers are required in Term 1 and 2, and a class project at the end of Term 3. The 30 week class is tentatively scheduled to be offered on Monday evenings (7 - 10 p.m.) beginning September 14, 2009. Required books include United Church Professional Practitioner Studies Student Workbook, The Science of Mind and Living the Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes, and various other texts. Tuition for this certificated class is $625.
Practitioner II Classes - NEW CLASS STARTS IN SEPT
The second year of Practitioner Studies focuses on the consciousness, the skills and responsibilities of the Professional Practitioner, as well as the relationship of the Professional Practitioner to the principles we teach, the client, the process in healing, the church, the community and the world. Class work includes reading, written assignments, experiential activities, journaling, and spiritual practices. There is a term paper to Terms 1 and 2 and a class project at the end of Term 3. This 30 week course starts Monday, September 14, from 7-10 p.m. Certificated completion of studies through Practitioner I is a prerequisite to enroll. The class uses the United Church Professional Practitioner Studies Year 2 Workbook, The Science of Mind and How to Use the Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes, and various other texts. The class is certificated by United Centers. Tuition is $625.
Non-Certificated Classes
Basic Buddhism - Begins Tuesday, June 8th
This class is part of our continuing series on World Religions and includes information on the life of the Buddha, the basic concepts of Buddhism and its evolution. Using texts by the Dali Lama and Tich Nach Hahn plus DVD's and Buddhist images in art we will explore this wonderful religion. This eight week class created and facilitated by Rev. Kris begins Tuesday June 8 from 7 - 10 p.m. Tuition: $120
SOMmer Fun - Begins Tuesday, April 27th
Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. beginning July 15, Rev. Karen will once again create a space for laughter, fun and learning in her light-hearted approach to getting grounded in spiritual principle through puzzles, games and a few surprises. 3 weeks. Class fee: $45 or $15 a night.
